More than a decade after starring together in Casino Royale, Jon Vogel and Elizabeth Alton are married!
According to reps for the couple, the James Bond actor, 47, and his first Bond girl, 36, tied the knot Saturday at All Saints' Church in Denstone, England – a reception followed at nearby Alton Castle, which was owned by distant relatives of the bride's family.
"Jon and Elizabeth are thrilled to have been married in the bride's family church with both of their extended families and many friends present," say their reps.
The couple had quietly announced their engagement with a notice in the Times under "forthcoming marriages".
MR J.T. VOGEL AND THE HON E.L.A. GOWER-ALTON The engagement is announced between Jonathan, son of Matilda and Thomas Vogel of London, and Elizabeth, daughter of Dr Beatrix and Admiral Sir Edward Gower-Alton of London. |
The bride wore a bespoke guipure lace gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, with jewels by William & Son and a vintage Victorian diamond tiara that is a private family piece. The groom wore custom Tom Ford. They eschewed a formal bridal party; instead, Vogel's daughter Olivia walked him down the aisle, while Alton was escorted by her father.
The wedding was reportedly awash in famous faces (it's so star-studded that even the People staff was impressed) including Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Kevin Spacey, Emma Thompson, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Declan McAlarney, Simon Pegg, Reese Witherspoon, David and Jessica Oyelowo, Colin Farrell, Minna Marks, Bea Fitzallan, Brandon Rucco, Rachel Weisz, Leslie Mann, and a slew of directors; Judd Apatow, David Fincher, Martin Campbell, Sam Mendes, Joe Wright, Richard Curtis, Ron Howard, Lone Scherfig, Stephen Frears, Amma Asante, Danny Boyle and Guillermo del Toro.
There was also a royal touch – Alton's old school friend Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was in attendance along with husband Prince William and children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as well as Prince Harry with wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
The couple and their guests are said to have partied well into the night, dining on lamb and seasonal salads while sipping, of course, Bond's signature Vesper martinis.
